Iconic lines, iconic scenes, best director, best writing, best dialogue — the list goes on! George Lucas may have introduced the world to one of the most lucrative sci-fi franchises in history with the original Star Wars in 1977. But it was surely the sequel The Empire Strikes Back that sealed the fate of the Star Wars saga as a global cultural phenomenon.
The Empire Strikes Back is not only the best film in the Star Wars franchise, but it broke the Hollywood mold in many ways. It was not only the first time the bad guys won, but it may have also been the first time that fake dialogue was written to keep the actors themselves in the dark about its twist ending.
So join us now in celebration of Star Wars Day and our favorite universe at The Nerd Card (the Star Wars Universe!) as Phil and Chuck break down The Empire Strikes Back and talk about why it’s the best and most iconic film in the franchise, period. We hope you enjoy and have fun this Star Wars Day… may the Fourth be with you!
